Number 1

Media Forms:

The extract follows the codes and conventions to a music video as often in most music videos we see people dancing, singing and having fun. this video is a typical music video. there are also different coloured backgrounds and different people dancing in each scene. in one of the scenes there is a group of females playing the violins, this shows they are presenting in the video to make the music video (2:48).

Media Audiences:

The way they would appeal to teens would be because the people in the video are also of this age group. it could also appeal to teen audience as the females in the video are young. it would also appeal to younger audience possibly because of the coloures used in the video rather than dull colours. the video is shown to target people who are younger.

Media Institutions:

The institution of the music video is universal Island records. this is only shown to the audience

Yr 12C1/C2 Easter Homework - Exam Preparation

Media Audiences:

The audience of the opening sequence of Spooks has a very large and wide target audience. the reason for this is because in the opening there is a child shown skipping and playing, there is also shown a conversation with two adults. The target audience is wide and would appeal to people of all ages. People who are intrested in horror and suspence would be intrested in this type of clips and would watch these sequences. I feel that the main target audience of the sequence is male. this is because it is more about suspence and action. the audience could however also be females as there is a girl and a woman shown in the openg sequence.

Media Institutions:

The only time when the institutions are mentioned is in the begining of the se4quence, this is when the first scene of the girl, is skipping is introduced. this shows the viewers that they ncould watch this series of SPOOKS on BBC. BBC is a large television Broadcasting network and is very well knwon, therefore most people would know about it when the logo would appear on the screen. by it showing the BBc logo it shows and gived the audiience an idea of what type of ssequence the opening is made for. The institution BBC broadcasts many dfifferent sequences which inform their audience and the also show a variety of different things such as news, soaps.

Media Forms:

The codes and conventions which are shown in the sequence are that it builds up tension and suspence. This is because the girl is firstly introduced, then the institution is introduced. There is no sound in the sequence of voices in the first few secongs. this is when suspence and tension is build up by the viewer of the sequence. However this is not something unusual, many sequences are shown like this to fulfil what they are there to do, this clip is there to build up suspence and make the view think and be eager to see what is going to hapen in the clip next. The sequence makes the audience also think later on in the sequence that who the girl is as she is not introduced in person. the main peopple in the sequence who are introduced are the male and female in the kitchen and the people who are watching and listening to them from the car.

Media Representation:

The people in the kitchen are represented as husand and wife or boyfriend or girlfriend. They are represented as innocent people as they are minding their own business. the people in the car who are spying on the couple are represented as trouble makers and people who dodgy possibly. The clip mainly shows us what they are talking about but does not tell us what the people in the car are up to but we can see that they are spying on the couple and reporting what they are doing and where they are. the three scenes which are takin in the clip are in the car and street, in the kitchen and in the garden where the girl is. the place which is seen as the safest place is the kitchen but the fact that they are spying on her makes it unsafe. the girl near the car looks like she is also in danger but she does not know about this.

Adulthoooood 2 minz analysiss

i will now be analysing a 2 min section of adulthood.

Adulthood Part 11 (Final Part)

part 1.47mins - 3.47 mins.

Slow mucic is being played in this scene asd they argue and talk and shout. fast mucic is being played as they are fighting.

The target audience of this scene in particular are males and also young teenagers. the characters jay and sam are represented as young typical youth from westlondon. this is shown through the way they speak, their actions and their style of clothing (hoodies). they are stereotyped as young teenagers.

in this clip, the youth of london are being represented as them fighting arguing and hanging around on the streets. The representations of the text are fair and accurate as it would be unusual for them fighting in a house or hall rather than the streets or a party.

The text appeals to the audience as it is what the youth like to watch and it is also a very important part of the film as it is the final 5 mins of the film where sam and jay meet after years.

the audience want to see their reactions to eachother and also what they do to eachother. the audience want to keep watching at this part of the movie as it sums up the whole movie and shows how the movie is going to end.

The genre which is violence and streetlife for youth of london is shown in this scence clearly.

Hitman Poster Analysis

I will now be analysing the poster of the video game (HITMAN)

The poster clearly shows it is a game poster from the symbols on the poster. the poster shows a woman who has been shot, she is lying down on the bed comfortably and only has one shot

the fact that it says BEUTIFULLY EXICUTED shows that she was not stabbed or shot more than once. the HITMAN was precice and did what he needed to.

The lady is shown as a sex object, we can see this from her dressing style. the misen scene shows 2 different sides of the poster and makes the viewer think.

The audiences of the video game would be poeple above 18 as it shows this on the poster and mainly men as it contains violence as we can see. These are the assumptions made. the videogame would not be targetted at females as they would show other things such as flowers or the solour pink rather than a woman who is dressed in this way.

the institution and games console on which the game is played on is PS2. this shows that the game would be of good quality etc. the other institutions such as EIDos would be the people who created the game.

The genre is violence and this is why it is rated 18. violence is shown from the heading HITMAN. BEUTIFULLY EXECUTED. the darkness in the poster, the shot in the neck. and the redness.

Music Video

In this music video people are represented in many ways

the females in this video are shown as objects and they are shown as the mens property.

the males in the video are shown as superior, PIMP, and also the person in charge/ in control. they are also represented as rich and wealthy by the props used : Mansions, Cars, watches, Jewelry etc.

the men in the video shows the characters of males and females and what their lifestyle is like or what they would like it to be like.

50 Cent expresses himself as if he is a ‘king’, he tries showing us that he is on a much higher level in society than others, we can see this by the way he dresses, the jewelry he wears, the luxurious cars and mansions he has and even by the silver glass he drinks out of.

Bullet Boy Trailer Analysis.

Bullet Boy Trailer Analysis.

Lighting
The Lighting in the trailer is not very bright. it shows that the films genre would not be fantasy or humor. By the title also being bullet boy it shows its going to contain violence. The lighting of the font is also very dull and the whole trailer shows people as black and white too and it shows that the film involves violence and people can tell from the trailer what the genre is and what the film could be about.

Props Used
The main props used in the trailer are, hoodies, guns, knives, and cars. The trailer only shows men. By focusing on the props the audience are able to see that the film involves violence and also by the props used we can see that the movie is based on criminals and revenge etc.

Characters

The main characters in the trailer are men, there is one woman but oinly shown in one scene. this shows that the target audience would be mainly targetted at men. By the way the characxters talk we can tell that the characters are from UK. we can also tell by the characters that the movie is targetted at teens or younger adults.

Setting
The main setting of the film is in the streets, in the house, in town, in cars, in a basket ball court. By the setting we can tell what the movie would be based on. therre are also not many settings in the trailer and the main settings are the streets and in the house..

MEST 1 ANALYSIS Superbad Analysis

I will be writing about the movie Superbad. This movie was released in late 2007. the genre of the movie is comedy and appeals mainly to teenagers. the movie involves drugs, teenage jokes.

The film is a movie which would be aimed at target audiences who are in their teens. the movie shows people in a school environment and everyday life of students and teenagers.

The movie is a highschool comedy. The institution of the movie is Columbia Pictures. this institution also made the movies: Hancock and The pursuit of happyness.

There are 3 main characters i n the movie who are Evan, Rebel and forgell. the mobvie is mainly based on their lifes and the three characters are very different and have different personalities. the way the three students talk to eachother and their discussions show that they are showing the main representation of males as they talk about sex etc.

The narrative shows that it follows Todorovs theorty it shows that the students are comfortable but when a problem comes up it shows the disequilibrium and then starts with a new equilibrium
